Stena Line and P&O Ferries have taken the decision to cancel their sailings between Cairnryan and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

Ferries between Scotland and Northern Ireland have been cancelled as Storm Amy approaches.<\/p>\n
Parts of Dumfries and Galloway<\/a> could be hit by gusts of winds as strong as 70mph on Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n As a result, both Stena Line and P&O Ferries have taken the decision to cancel their sailings between Cairnryan and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Dumfries and Galloway forces charity aiming to hit a Christmas century<\/a>READ MORE: Young farmer handed ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity to take over Dumfries and Galloway dairy farm<\/a><\/p>\n There are no more P&O sailings between Cairnryan and Larne on Friday, with the 4am journey they only scheduled sailing on Saturday.<\/p>\n Cairnryan\u2019s 7.30pm sailing from Cairnryan to Belfast was delayed until 10am, with the 11.30am sailing also delayed by an hour.<\/p>\n Friday\u2019s remaining sailings, along with Saturday morning\u2019s 3am departure, have all been cancelled.<\/p>\n Belfast to Cairnryan sailings have also been cancelled from 11.30am.<\/p>\n A Police Scotland spokesman said: \u201cThose booked on to any of the affected sailings are advised not to travel to the area as long delays are expected and should instead seek alternative travel options elsewhere.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease check with Stena Line and P&O Ferries as appropriate for updates on your sailing.<\/p>\n
