Eugene Levy opens up about ‘avoiding’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/p>\n
Eugene Levy has revealed why he steered clear of questions about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during his high-profile sit-down with Prince William at Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n
The Canadian actor and comedian joined the Prince of Wales for the October 3 episode of The Reluctant Traveler on Apple TV+.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In a new interview with ITV News released October 2, Levy explained that while he was never instructed to avoid the subject, he chose not to raise it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was not told I couldn\u2019t ask anything, but it wasn\u2019t really up to me to get into that,\u201d Levy said. \u201cI had no interest in asking him about that, because it was a very delicate issue and certainly not up to me to get into it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Instead, Levy directed the conversation toward lighter and more meaningful topics. \u201cI think there were other things I could lead the conversation to that might be interesting for him and interesting for the world to hear,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
According to People, the royal brothers\u2019 rift has been widely documented since 2020, when Harry and Meghan stepped back from their senior royal roles.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Tensions have remained visible in the years since.<\/p>\n
In the Reluctant Traveler episode, titled Living the Royal Life in the U.K., William spoke candidly about family struggles, including health challenges faced by Kate Middleton and King Charles, as well as his hopes for the future of the monarchy.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As per the outlet, he also opened up about parenting, calling last year \u201cthe worst year\u201d of his life but stressing his determination to bring \u201cchange for good\u201d when he eventually becomes King.<\/p>\n
Speaking separately to CNN, Levy reflected on the conversation\u2019s surprising depth.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cIt changes what\u2019s kind of important and he seemed to truly indicate that it did kind of alter his way of thinking,\u201d Levy said.<\/p>\n
