Research done by Robert Half shows that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roberthalf.com\/us\/en\/insights\/research\/august-2025-labor-market-update-for-employers-and-job-seekers\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/www.roberthalf.com\/us\/en\/insights\/research\/august-2025-labor-market-update-for-employers-and-job-seekers\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">67% of companies are relying on contract and project-based<\/a> hiring through the end of this year, at least.<\/p>\n<p>With market uncertainty, hiring for full-time positions is constrained at many companies, a technology jobs expert at Robert Half, Megan Slabinski, said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd employers still have a need to keep the business going and keep momentum going throughout the end of the year to meet year end goals, project deadlines and try and avoid burnout,\u201d Slabinski said.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why, many of those companies are turning to contracted work, Slabinski said that work stretches across departments like finance, legal and customer support.<\/p>\n<p>Her advice to job searchers? Don\u2019t say no to those opportunities right away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s important to not minimize the opportunity that comes with a contract hiring opportunity,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a way to often times expand your network, gain new skills and projects, ramp up quickly, and often they lead to full time hiring within an organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oftentimes, those contracted positions turn into full-time jobs, according to Slabinski. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great way to prove the need for adding full-time staff,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen you can bring in a contract employee and show increased productivity, better results, the ROI, it really can help emphasize the need to later in that full time talent for employers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other advice from Slabinski is to use your network to go beyond searching for jobs online.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SEATTLE \u2014 Full time jobs are becoming more difficult to find in the second half of 2025.
