A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a \u201csophisticated cannabis factory\u201d in Portadown.<\/p>\n

Police were called to an address in the Broomhill area of the town shortly before 1am on Saturday. <\/p>\n

Officers found a cannabis operation with an estimated street value of around \u00a3120,000.<\/p>\n

Detectives from the PSNI\u2019s Organised Crime Branch subsequently arrested a man on suspicion of drug-related charges.<\/p>\n

Detective Sergeant Martin said: \u201cA sophisticated cannabis factory was uncovered in a property. Later in the morning a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis.<\/p>\n

“He remains in custody at present.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Police Service of Northern Ireland is committed to tackling the illegal supply and use of drugs, and will continue to investigate those who profit from the consequent misery and harm.<\/p>\n
