Two men have been banned from Bristol Airport after verbally abusing airline staff while drunk.<\/p>\n

Lee Morgan and James Gibbons both admitted two public order offences when they grew aggressive towards workers ahead of a flight to Antalya, Turkey on Monday, March 3.<\/p>\n

Police officers were called to the departure lounge and gate area of Bristol Airport<\/a> to reports of intoxicated passengers being verbally abusive and aggressive<\/p>\n

Morgan, 39, of Glan-Y-Nant, Llangybi, Monmouthshire and Gibbons, 32, of Cape Lindsey Road, Newport were sentenced on Tuesday, April 22 at North Somerset<\/a> Magistrates’ Court.<\/p>\n

Morgan was sentenced to a community order, including 120 hours of unpaid work, as well as being ordered to pay \u00a385 costs and a \u00a3114 victim surcharge<\/p>\n

Gibbons also received a community order, including 180 hours of unpaid work, as well as being ordered to pay the same costs and victim surcharge.<\/p>\n

Both men have also been banned from Bristol Airport for five years.<\/p>\n

Sgt Danielle Hardaway said: \u201cThese two men were highly aggressive and threatening towards airline staff and police officers throughout.<\/p>\n

“Their behaviour was disgraceful and also caused distress and concern to other passengers who had to witness it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who are not fit to fly due to intoxication will not be allowed to board the plane, and robust action will always be taken in such cases.\u201d<\/p>\n
