A convicted killer who escaped prison<\/a> on Tuesday remains at large.<\/p>\n

Raymond McCourt, 59, absconded from HMP Castle Huntly. He was reported missing from the open prison at around 5.30pm on April 22.<\/p>\n

New CCTV images show him on Duke Street in Glasgow<\/a> at around 4.40pm on Tuesday. He was seen wearing a checked red, white and blue shirt with a basebell cap and rain jacket.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Raymond uses public transport and has connections to the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas. The public are being asked not to approach him.<\/p>\n

“He is described as being 6ft 2in tall, stocky build with short grey hair and beard and has reduced mobility.”<\/p>\n

McCourt was jailed for life in 1993 after murdering a newsagent. He shot Khalid Mahmood in the head, before attempting to rob a nearby bakery.<\/p>\n

In 2015, he was released from prison though was soon sent back on theft charges.<\/p>\n

Any sightings or information can be passed to officers via 101, quoting reference 2857 of April 22.<\/p>\n
