Strictly Come Dancing’s Ross King was left emotional as he performed a ballroom dance to Sunshine on Leith.<\/p>\n

Edinburgh locals have reacted after the Waltz which brought the Scottish TV presenter to tears on Saturday night during the popular BBC competition.<\/p>\n

The 63-year-old secured a score of 15 by the judges after the Lorraine star returned to his home country in his promotional video.<\/p>\n

Jowita, his professional partner, revealed the pair would be dancing their waltz to the iconic Proclaimers’ tune, Sunshine on Leith and Ross took her to Loch Lomond.<\/p>\n

Ross said the area was really special to him and branded himself a “very proud Scots person”.<\/p>\n

After the teary performance, many fans of the show took to X, formally known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.<\/p>\n

One person said: “I didn\u2019t have Ross King to be the first to make me cry this year. That bloody song.”<\/p>\n

Another wrote: “All the Hibees will be voting for Ross King.”<\/p>\n

Another fan of the show said: “Ross king. You have my vote from Scotland. Definitely what an improvement.”<\/p>\n

When Jowita asked during the promotional video why the loch has such a special place in Ross’ heart, he became emotional as he said: “So many memories around here. My school friends, sister, yeah, I think about my mum and dad when I’m here. It’s special. It’s happy. It’s a happy cry.”<\/p>\n

The tears continued on the dance floor, as the duo embraced, Ross wiped away tears before completing their routine.<\/p>\n

While the judges were still keen to critique his performance, they did have some praise as they agreed that he is definitely the “most improved” dancer so far.<\/p>\n

Ross replied: “I want to be the poster boy, poster older man for people who can’t dance but want to dance.”<\/p>\n

His tentative Cha Cha with Jowita landed him just two points from both Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas.<\/p>\n
