Police have sealed off a section of Birmingham city centre amid reports of an incident.<\/p>\n

Cordons have been placed across the entrance to a set of stairs next to the entrance to the Bullring Shopping Centre with officers standing guard.<\/p>\n

Several police vans and ambulances were also seen parked close to the complex around 5.10pm on Sunday (October 5).<\/p>\n

The nature of the incident is currently unknown and seems to be limited to the walkway to New Street Station by the old Zara.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> are investigating and will be providing details shortly.<\/p>\n

There are no reports of any road closures and the rest of the centre is unaffected.<\/p>\n

Jordan Hart, 27, from Sheldon, said: “I saw about eight police cars, two British Transport armed police officers and two officers on bike patrol.<\/p>\n

“The cordons are outside the Bullring and the other cordon is across the little gulley way leading to the Bull statue.<\/p>\n

“The police are just standing within the cordon and people are asking what’s happened.<\/p>\n

“There were crowds just standing and watching hoping to see something.”<\/p>\n
