These are the faces of just some of the people who have been banned from shops in and around Merseyside. The offenders have been given criminal behaviour orders<\/a> (CBOs) for a range of reasons, including theft and anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n Each person has been banned from a certain geographical area, from shopping centres like Liverpool ONE<\/a> or specific shops or specific shops including B&M, Home Bargains and TK Maxx.<\/p>\n If they enter the restricted areas, outlined in their CBO, they could be arrested and face further punishment. CBOs target the most persistent offenders who won’t stop committing crime and causing anti-social behaviour<\/a>.<\/p>\n It means that, on top of their sentence, the individual also faces additional restrictions that can last for an indefinite period if they are adults, or for up to three years for under 18s.<\/p>\n Here we’ve listed those criminals who have been banned from shops in and around Merseyside.<\/p>\n Emily Williams A mum bit a security guard and shouted “I have HIV” as she stole four candles from John Lewis. Emily Williams had already been banned from the Liverpool ONE<\/a> store for persistent shoplifting when she struck again, this time responding with violence when challenged by staff.<\/p>\n She was left in tears in court as she reached “the end of the line” and was sent to prison. A judge meanwhile remarked of her claims to the employee: “I appreciate that may not have been true, but she must have been terrified as a result.”<\/p>\n Appearing in court on September 30 this year, she was jailed for nine months and banned from entering the John Lewis store for three years under a restraining order.<\/p>\n Adam Lees A man has been banned from Co-Op Food, Sainsbury’s, John Lewis, Home Bargains and Go Local Extra in Merseyside. Adam Lees, 38, of no fixed address, was issued a three-year CBO and jailed for 20 weeks at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 18, following his conviction for several shop thefts<\/a>.<\/p>\n He is also barred from entering the specified area<\/a> of Strand Street, James Street, Castle Street, Dale Street, Crosshall Street, Hood Street, St George\u2019s Place, Lime Street, Renshaw Street, Berry Street, Duke Street, Paradise Street, Liver Street and Wapping (as outlined on the map).<\/p>\n It was heard in court that Lees was spotted by police on Tuesday, September 16 running along Vauxhall Road carrying a large box of confectionery inside it and staff from Go Local Extra running after him. Officers arrested Lees on suspicion of theft, and following enquiries it was revealed that he was responsible for other thefts that had taken place in the city centre for which he was charged.<\/a><\/p>\n This included stealing chocolate on two consecutive days from Co-Op store on Leece Street worth nearly \u00a390 and \u00a335 on July 23 and July 24. In July, Lees was charged with stealing two tubs of creatine from Holland & Barratt on Whitechapel worth \u00a370.<\/p>\n Samantha Bristow A woman has been banned from Farmfoods, TK Maxx, Asda, Primark and Wyndsors in one part of Merseyside. Samantha Bristow, of no fixed abode, has been banned from entering Birkenhead and certain shops across Wirral.<\/a><\/p>\n It comes after the 40-year-old took several handbags from TK Maxx, on Grange Road in Birkenhead<\/a>, and pushed a staff member on Sunday, June 15. She was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, September 15 for 20 months and will be subjected to a three-year criminal behaviour order following a robbery conviction.<\/p>\n The CBO stipulates that Bristow is prohibited from entering Birkenhead<\/a> town centre, and specifically from going into any Farmfoods, TK Maxx, Asda<\/a>, Primark or Wyndsors stores in Wirral<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sean Draboczi A man has been banned from all Co-Op, Aldi and Sainsbury’s stores as well as several branches of other supermarkets<\/a> for being a prolific shoplifter.<\/a> Sean Draboczi, 36, of no fixed address, appeared at Sefton<\/a> Magistrates Court on Thursday, August 28, and pleaded guilty to 12 counts of theft<\/a> in stores mainly located in Southport<\/a> and Formby<\/a>.<\/p>\n He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison and issued with a two-year criminal behaviour order. This order bans him from entering any Co-op<\/a>, Aldi<\/a> and Sainsbury’s<\/a> store in Merseyside until August 28, 2027.<\/p>\n Draboczi is also prohibited from entering Morrisons Daily<\/a> on Mount Road, Tranmere, and the store on St James Street in Southport, Marks And Spencer <\/a>on Hallsall Lane, Formby, and Chapel Street, Southport, and Spar on Harrington Road, Formby.<\/p>\n The catalogue of offences committed by Draboczi was read out in court, which included shoplifting at Marks and Spencer on Chapel Street, Southport in May. He walked around the fridges and filled his basket with \u00a3321 worth of steak and then left the store without paying.<\/p>\n Jordan Lytollis A dad has been banned from every JD Sports and Footasylum store in the country. Jordan Lytollis attacked members of staff in a Liverpool ONE<\/a> store with a metal bar after being caught shoplifting, warning them: “If you come anywhere near me, I’ll take your head off.”<\/p>\n It came amid a spree of thefts worth thousands of pounds at stores across Merseyside and Greater Manchester. A judge today labelled him a “greedy and violent individual” and told him: “Violence and dishonesty seems to be second nature to you.”<\/p>\n The St Helens man was jailed for 27 months and handed a criminal behaviour order on July 15 this year. This will ban him from entering every branch of JD Sports, Footasylum and Blacks in the UK for the next four years.<\/p>\n Stuart Astley A man has been banned from entering every B&M store in the country following a string of thefts. Police <\/a>arrested Stuart Astley on August 18, in connection to thefts from B&M<\/a> and Co-Op<\/a> stores in Skelmersdale<\/a> and Upholland between July 28 and August 7.<\/p>\n He was charged with three counts of theft from a shop and four counts of breaching a CBO. It comes after Astley was handed a CBO last month which prevented him from entering Tawd Valley Retail Park in Skelmersdale and any B&M store in the UK<\/a>.<\/p>\n Astley, 43, of Caister Close, Skelmersdale, appeared in Preston Magistrates’ Court <\/a>where he pleaded guilty to the seven offences and was sentenced to four months in prison.<\/p>\n Simon Ferguson A man was banned from a shopping centre after he “failed to change his ways”. Simon Ferguson was previously jailed in October last year for multiple shoplifting offences in West Lancashire.<\/p>\n However, police said since his release a few weeks ago he has continued his offending. On Tuesday, April 15, he was arrested and charged in connection with eight further shoplifting offences that have occurred since his release.<\/p>\n Ferguson was remanded and appeared before Preston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 16 where he was sentenced to five months in prison for his actions. He was also made subject to a criminal behaviour order with conditions that prohibit him entering the following places, including many in Skelmersdale<\/a>:<\/p>\n Teri Wilson Teri Wilson was banned from every TK Maxx, B&M and Matalan in Merseyside for persistently terrorising shops with her anti-social behaviour. Wilson was handed a three year criminal behaviour order (CBO)<\/a>, which bans her from entering Rock Retail Park in Birkenhead<\/a>, following an investigation into thefts from shops.<\/p>\n The 35-year-old, of Perilla Drive in Norris Green<\/a>, was issued with the CBO at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court<\/a> after she was arrested and charged with multiple incidents of retail crime<\/a>.<\/p>\n The CBO, which will run until June 16, 2027, also bans Wilson from entering any Matalan, TK Maxx and B&M Store in Merseyside. Wilson was issued with the ban due to her involvement in a number of thefts in the area.<\/p>\n Joshua Chase Joshua Chase, of no fixed address, but formerly from Liscard, appeared in Sefton<\/a> Magistrates Court <\/a>on September 25, 2024 after he pleaded guilty to 14 counts of theft from different shops in New Ferry<\/a> and Croft Retail Park in Bebington <\/a>in March and April of that year.<\/p>\n On September 16 it was heard that Chase would fill carrier bags full of stock and leave the store without paying. On one occasion he entered Heron Foods on New Chester Road and took 13 blocks of cheese worth \u00a345 then left the shop.<\/p>\n In another incident he took goods from Iceland on New Chester Road before being confronted by an employee. He then pulled a knife out and threatened him.<\/p>\n He also targeted Premier on the same road and stole multiple packets of bacon worth more than \u00a348. He returned a few days later and took bottles of whiskey worth more than \u00a370. He then returned the same day and stole a bottle of vodka worth \u00a340. In another instance he stole several packets of steak from Lidl <\/a>on Oxton Road.<\/p>\n Chase was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison and issued with a four-year and four months banning order at Sefton Magistrates Court. Under a criminal behaviour order, Chase is now banned from entering all Heron Foods store, Iceland, and Aldi store in the borough. He is also excluded from two zones in New Ferry and the Croft Retail Park until January 2029.<\/p>\n Carlos Navarro<\/p>\n Carlos Navarro has been banned from entering all Sainsbury’s, Tesco<\/a> and B&M stores in Liverpool. Carlos Navarro would visit stores around the city centre filling carrier bags full of stock and leaving without paying.<\/p>\n On one occasion the then 40-year-old walked into Waterstones and filled a carrier bag with a \u00a3100 worth of board games before walking away. On another occasion he visited Worlds Apart on Lime Street, filling carrier bags full of stock including a Power Ranger figure and two wrestling figures worth \u00a365.<\/p>\n On this occasion he was confronted by staff who managed to recover some of the stock. On this occasion he was confronted by staff who managed to recover some of the stock.<\/p>\n Daniel New Daniel New, of Whetstone Lane in Birkenhead<\/a>, was given a criminal behaviour order on December 19, 2023. Merseyside Police and Wirral<\/a> Council obtained the order against the then 33-year-old due to him carrying out persistent anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n He was also associated with several shoplifting offences committed across Wirral. The order is in place for three years and meant New was banned from entering Birkenhead town centre <\/a>and banned from associating with certain individuals, behaving in an anti-social manner and remaining in any shop when asked to leave.<\/p>\n However police said New had failed to adhere to these conditions and confirmed, on February 7, 2024 after a warrant was put out for his arrest, he had been found and arrested. He was then recalled to prison.<\/p>\n Lloyd Mangwiro<\/p>\n Lloyd Mangwiro, of no fixed abode, was given a criminal behaviour order following a series of allegations about his behaviour in Liverpool city centre<\/a> between August 2023 and January 2024, including claims that he stole from shops and was drunk and disorderly in a public place.<\/p>\n The order, which will run until February 8, 2026, bans Mangwiro from entering an area of Liverpool city centre bounded by and including Dale Street, Castle Street, James Street, The Strand, Hanover Street, Copperas Hill and Lime Street. If he enters Liverpool city centre, Mangwiro will be arrested, returned to court and may be jailed.<\/p>\n George Owen George Owen, of Birkrig, Skelmersdale<\/a>, appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop which relates to incidents in Ormskirk<\/a> between September and October 2024.<\/p>\n Owen was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison and was also given a three-year criminal behaviour order where he is prohibited from entering parts of Ormskirk town centre and prohibited from entering any B&M Bargains store.<\/p>\n Wayne Lewis<\/p>\n Wayne Lewis, then aged 47, of no fixed abode, was given the CBO at Wirral Magistrates\u2019 Court on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.<\/p>\n The CBO stipulates Lewis can\u2019t enter any Tesco, Aldi, or Sainsbury\u2019s store in Southport<\/a> and he cannot remain within 100 yards of any shop in Southport when asked to leave by a staff member. He is also banned from wearing any form of face covering or cause harassment, alarm, or distress to any member of staff in shops.<\/p>\n Paul Green<\/p>\n Paul Green was subject to a court order banning him from the Range, as well as every branch of Lidl, Tesco<\/a> and Asda<\/a> in Merseyside. He tried to steal items including a pair of hair straighteners, but was thwarted by eagle eyed employees.<\/p>\n Liverpool Crown Court<\/a> previously heard how he was handed a two-year criminal behaviour order commencing in September 2023 following a spate of shoplifting. This CBO prohibited him from frequenting all Lidl, Asda, Tesco, McColls, Poundland, the Range, Wilkos, Boots, Superdrug and Savers stores within Merseyside, as well as barring him from Church Square Shopping Centre in St Helens<\/a> and requiring him to leave any retail premises when instructed to do so by members of staff.<\/p>\n However, the court heard he later broke this order. Green admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order and theft. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was locked up for 16 months.<\/p>\n Robert Edwards-Sutton<\/p>\n Robert Edwards-Sutton, then 38, of Lansdowne Road, Birkenhead, was given a CBO at Wirral Magistrates\u2019 Court on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.<\/p>\n The CBO stipulates that Edwards-Sutton can\u2019t enter any Tesco, Aldi, or Co-op store in Wirral and he can\u2019t remain within 100 yards of any shop in Wirral when asked to leave by a staff member.<\/p>\n He is also banned from wearing any form of face covering or cause harassment, alarm, or distress to any member of staff in shops. Edwards-Sutton was also sentenced for a theft from Boots, on Grange Road, in Birkenhead, on Tuesday, December 3.
