Meanwhile, Scott Parker\u2019s side sit bottom for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fotmob.com\/en-GB\/leagues\/47\/stats\/premier-league\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">xG conceded<\/a> (13.9) compared to Leeds up in sixth (8.1)<\/p>\n<p>Burnley\u2019s latest result was a 2-1 defeat away to a resurgent Aston Villa side, who look to have turned a corner under Unai Emery after a really poor start.<\/p>\n<p>Goals from Donyell Malen proved the difference, leading to Parker having some intriguing comments for his defence post-match.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe were competitive, the second goal was poor from us,\u201d Parker told Sky Sports, via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/c5yk6j2dxydo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a young team and I think over the first seven games we have switched off at times. If you switch off for one second here you get punished.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s another brand new team, it is a brand new defensive line and we are working tirelessly with that. We have switched off in certain moments and looked a bit young.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is frustration there because we have been really close. Perspective is something that I live by. We understand the challenge.
