A “derelict” former bookies on a busy Bristol shopping <\/a>street is set to go under the hammer. The site at 250 Stapleton Road in Easton<\/a>, which used to house a William Hill branch, is being auctioned off with a guide price of \u00a3250,000.<\/p>\n Although the building has fallen into something of a state of disrepair having been unoccupied for a number of years, auctioneers <\/a>Hollis Morgan said it represented a good investment opportunity.<\/p>\n Planning <\/a>permission was granted in February to turn the three-storey building <\/a>into a retail space and two flats.<\/p>\n “For many years I have driven past this derelict corner plot and dreamt of its potential whilst sat idling in traffic,” Olly Hollis, Director Auctioneer and Valuer at Hollis Morgan said. “Finally we can put dreams into reality.”<\/p>\n The building is located opposite Piri Piri Corner chicken shop, near the zebra crossing and the St Marks Road junction. The proposed redevelopment plans would allow for a retail space with bike and bin storage on the ground floor, a three-bedroom flat on the first floor and a two-bedroom flat on the second floor.<\/p>\n The winning bidder will have some work to do to clean up the property. Its exterior is covered in graffiti and there is a substantial amount of rubbish on the inside.<\/p>\n The desk of the bookies which used to call the building home is still standing, dividing screen and all. The building is for sale on a freehold basis.<\/p>\n The live auction will take place online on the Hollis Morgan website on Wednesday, October 15, at midday.
