Manchester United were wronged in a recent Premier League fixture and have received an admission straight from the top.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Ruben Amorim<\/a> under pressure until he strings a series of victories together, every result counts for Manchester United.<\/p>\n

The previous week\u2019s defeat at Brentford<\/a> was a particularly woeful day, with United losing 3-1<\/a> with a poor defensive performance.<\/p>\n

But there was one moment where the game turned, with United 2-1 down, a penalty was awarded and a red card should have been given to Nathan Collins for a last man tackle on Bryan Mbeumo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After a five-minute delay, no red card was given, and Bruno Fernandes missed the penalty. Brentford played the remaining 15 minutes with 11 men, instead of 10, and went on to win 3-1.<\/p>\n

Manchester United were frustrated by the decision not to award a red card to Nathan Collins, which may have impacted the result.<\/p>\n

Chief executive Omar Berrada<\/a> and football director Jason Wilcox<\/a> issued a complaint to the Premier League, The Mail report.<\/p>\n

The Ineos chiefs were compelled to complain due to the impact the decision had on under-pressure head coach Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is being reported that PGMOL chief Howard Webb has made an admission that the failure to send off Nathan Collins was a mistake.<\/p>\n

While there is no recourse available to United beyond this, it is at least worth noting that the Premier League have acknowledged the error.<\/p>\n

Former referee Mark Clattenburg told United In Focus<\/strong> that \u2018the only outcome should have been a red card\u2019, also blasting the five-minute delay<\/a> that it took to reach the wrong decision.<\/p>\n

The error against Brentford was the second wrong decision from the referees to play a key role in a Manchester United defeat this season.<\/p>\n

Mark Clattenburg told United In Focus<\/strong> that Arsenal\u2019s goal against Manchester United in the opener should not have been allowed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He cited Mason Mount\u2019s shirt being pulled by William Saliba, preventing the midfielder from challenging for the ball from the Arsenal corner. The Gunners scored from the set piece and won 1-0.<\/p>\n
