{"id":477392,"date":"2025-10-06T04:51:20","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T04:51:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/477392\/"},"modified":"2025-10-06T04:51:20","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T04:51:20","slug":"browns-fans-get-early-start-with-teams-london-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/477392\/","title":{"rendered":"Browns fans get early start with team\u2019s London game."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) -The cheers weren\u2019t the usual deafening cacophony at places like the Winking Lizard on St. Clair and East 9th Street downtown. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe open at eight o\u2019clock for Browns home games, big crowd usually, said Andrew Hunt, the manager. \u201cI think it might slow it down a little bit in the morning.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Some fans arrived late, straggling in after kickoff. And those that arrived early noticed the change to their game day routine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYour food choices don\u2019t necessarily fall in line with, not going to have ham and eggs with your morning beer!\u201d laughs Jeannette Dunaway, a Browns fan staying downtown after a visit to the Rock Hall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cFeels like a college thing, a college noon kickoff back in the day,\u201d said Evan Harcourt, walking into Dive Bar on West Sixth Street. \u201cBut, hey, we\u2019re going to enjoy the Sunday morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For many watching, however, the early start meant an extended day of football.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cFor me, it\u2019s early,\u201d said Katie Hill from Huron, staying downtown after watching the Nate Bargatze show at Rocket Arena. \u201cIt\u2019 going to be all day football. But It\u2019s great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI\u2019m happy,\u201d echoed her husband, Brian Hill. \u201cIt\u2019s football from nine-thirty all day. That\u2019s why I\u2019m happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThey\u2019re out in London but Browns fans also come out and support no matter what,\u201d said Jorge Colon, working at Dive Bar. \u201cI know it\u2019s a little bit early but hopefully some more people show up here soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Some business districts like Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, had events to get people up and into the bars before noon. The Cleveland Heights Happy 5K &amp; 10K filled the bars with runners who are also Browns fans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe\u2019re hoping that people stick around and support their local businesses and support the Cleveland Brown,\u201d said Andres Gonzales, the Happy Run organizer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe Browns are a good draw, a lot of fun,\u201d said Mark Goyetche, tending bar at Kensington Pub. \u201cLook what I got, nine-thirty in the morning, I\u2019ll take it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It was the same story at New Heights Grill just down Lee Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI didn\u2019t expect a full bar, not at all today<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">An early kickoff meant early business<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt\u2019s a win\/win,\u201d confirmed Goyetche.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Even in a loss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WOIO.
