Joe Gomez has been heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool since the summer transfer window with multiple clubs keeping tabs on his situation.<\/strong><\/p>\n Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 5 September that Crystal Palace and Brighton wanted to sign Gomez<\/a> on deadline day before their deals were blocked.<\/p>\n AC Milan<\/a> also came close to signing the England international, but their move fell through after Liverpool failed to agree terms with Crystal Palace over Marc Guehi<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arne Slot<\/a>, meanwhile, is determined to keep the majority of his squad together and will not entertain offers for players in what is the weakest area of his squad.<\/p>\n Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 5 October that Liverpool have no plans to let Gomez leave<\/a> as he remains a key player under Slot given their lack of defensive cover.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a><\/strong>, Gomez is happy to stay at Liverpool as long as he feels like a significant part of the squad and is playing regular football as the backup to Konate and Van Dijk.<\/p>\n Speaking on the Inside Track podcast<\/strong>, I explained: \u201cAs long as Joe Gomez is needed and is playing games, I think he\u2019s happy at Liverpool. <\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n \u201cThere was obviously interest from AC Milan in the summer window.
