Pierce Morgan\/YouTube<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cClub Random\u201d podcast host spoke out about the \u201cinsulting\u201d comments on Thursday\u2019s episode of \u201cPiers Morgan Uncensored.\u201d Pierce Morgan\/YouTube<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe minute you play the Hitler card, you\u2019ve lost the argument,\u201d Maher, 69, added. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, I must say, c\u2019mon man, Hitler, Nazis? Nobody has been harder on and more pressing about Donald Trump than me,\u201d the talk show host continued, referring to his past criticism of the 47th president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t need to be lectured on who Donald Trump is. Just the fact that I met him in person didn\u2019t change that. And the fact I reported honestly is not a sin either.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis wasn\u2019t my favorite moment in our friendship,\u201d Maher said of the fellow comedian. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut to use the Hitler thing, first of all, I think it\u2019s kind of insulting to six million dead jews,\u201d Maher said, referring to the Holocaust. \u201cThat should kind of be in its own place in history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an argument you kinda lost,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s not completely logically fair, but Hitler has really kinda gotta stay in his own place. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is the [greatest of all time] of evil and we\u2019re just going to have to, I think, leave it like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reps for David, 77, weren\u2019t immediately available to Page Six for comment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t need to be lectured on who Donald Trump is,\u201d Maher continued. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cClub Random\u201d podcast host acknowledged that he\u2019s been a tough critic of Trump, and that doesn\u2019t change just because he met the politician in person. And oddly enough, this one seemed more authentic, like this was the real Hitler. The whole thing had my head spinning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so thankful I came. Although we disagree on many issues, it doesn\u2019t mean that we have to hate each other \u2026 I gave him a Nazi salute and walked out into the night,\u201d the actor added.<\/p>\n<p>Maher referred to Trump as \u201cgracious and measured\u201d after they met in person in March. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>While David didn\u2019t refer to Maher or Trump, the Times opinion editor Patrick Healy made the comparison in an article<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/04\/21\/opinion\/larry-david-dinner.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> published on April 21.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>David\u2019s inspiration for the piece seemingly stemmed from Maher\u2019s description of meeting Trump on March 31 during an episode of his \u201cReal Time with Bill Maher\u201d series earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>During the episode, Maher claimed that the \u201cthe guy [he] met\u201d wasn\u2019t the same man people see in the news and referred to him as \u201cgracious and measured.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Comedian Bill Maher candidly responded to Larry David\u2019s satirical essay comparing President Trump to Adolf Hitler.
