Underwear as outerwear is one of those perennially popular trends that never really goes anywhere, particularly given fashion’s love of sheer dressing<\/a>, but every once in a while it has a major moment once again \u2013 and, according to Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello, we’re all going to be adopting it this autumn\/winter. <\/p>\n

More specifically, this high-fashion take on the look has more of a sleepwear focus. It’s nightwear as daywear, if you will \u2013 but not in an oversized pyjamas sort of way; think sumptuous fabrics and slinky, lingerie-inspired silhouettes. <\/p>\n

The most standout look came courtesy of Blackpink star Ros\u00e9, a Saint Laurent ambassador, who sat on the front row in a silky romper suit that featured a camisole top and floaty shorts. The romantic sky-blue design had a contrasting peach-hued lace trim, with delicate trailing ribbons that added an ethereal quality. The piece culminated into a dramatic, fashion week-worthy train that swept behind her. <\/p>\n

The star styled the piece with very sheer black tights, strappy sandals and a chunky gold cuff bracelet. In keeping with the boudoir-inspired outfit, Ros\u00e9 wore her hair in a coquettish high ponytail and kept the rest of her outfit natural, with just a touch of winged liner. <\/p>\n

The singer-songwriter wasn’t the only front-row guest to wear an underwear-adjacent look. Hailey Bieber, who is also a regular face at Saint Laurent shows, arrived in a pair of silky lace-trimmed shorts, which she styled with a contrasting windbreaker jacket and metallic mules. Newlywed Charli xcx also wore a similar jacket, with pink frilled shorts peeking out from underneath. <\/p>\n

Away from the Paris shows, lingerie-inspired looks have been seen cropping up regularly on the red carpet; Emily Blunt attended the Toronto International Film Festival in a sheer lace-panelled top, while Gwendoline Christie opted for a satiny Prada nightdress at the premiere of her latest film.<\/p>\n
