Police have uncovered a huge cannabis farm worth \u00a31.3m in Cheetham Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Officers raided a building on Redbank on Sunday (October 5) as part of an investigation into organised immigration, modern slavery and drug supply, Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said. They discovered the large-scale cannabis farm inside.<\/p>\n

Pictures were today shared on GMP’s social media of the huge number of plants, with a full electricity supply set up inside the building.<\/p>\n

Six men have been arrested in connection with the discovery.<\/p>\n

Four of the men – aged 26, 27, 34 and 35 – were arrested on suspicion of cannabis production and immigration offences.<\/p>\n

Two men, aged 42 and 50, were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking offences. All six suspects remain in custody to be quizzed by detectives.<\/p>\n

Detective Superintendent Joseph Harrop at GMP said: “We have made six arrests as part of an ongoing investigation into organised immigration crime and modern slavery and prevented a large quantity of drugs from entering our streets.<\/p>\n

“Organised immigration crime is connected to violence and exploitation which negatively impacts our communities.<\/p>\n

“GMP remains committed to tackling serious and organised crime and will continue to pursue these criminals until we them to justice.<\/p>\n

“We take any information submitted by members of the public seriously and act upon it accordingly.<\/p>\n
