{"id":478299,"date":"2025-10-06T14:43:17","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T14:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/478299\/"},"modified":"2025-10-06T14:43:17","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T14:43:17","slug":"it-pains-me-to-say-i-have-to-cancel-everything-for-the-foreseeable-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/478299\/","title":{"rendered":"It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/lola-young\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lola Young<\/a> has today (September 30) said that she is \u201cgoing away\u201d for a while after collapsing on stage last week in New York City.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post-content-read-more\">\n<li><strong>READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/lola-young-im-only-fucking-myself-review-3892768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lola Young \u2013 \u2018I\u2019m Only Fucking Myself\u2019 review: interesting and surprising spins on pop<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The musician <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lola-young-says-shes-doing-okay-after-collapsing-on-stage-in-new-york-city-3895695\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appeared to fall ill while performing \u2018Conceited\u2019 at All Things Go in New York City on Saturday (September 27), and was carried off stage by a medical team<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It came after Young spoke briefly about how she \u201chad a tricky couple of days\u201d earlier in the set. \u201cSometimes life can really make you feel like you can\u2019t continue,\u201d she said. \u201cBut you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool\u2026and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the incident, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lola-young-says-shes-doing-okay-after-collapsing-on-stage-in-new-york-city-3895695\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Young took to Instagram on Monday (September 28) to reassure fans that she was \u201cdoing okay\u201d<\/a>, but the musician <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lola-young-pulls-out-of-all-things-go-show-in-washington-dc-after-collapsing-on-stage-in-new-york-3895775\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was also then forced to pull out of her Washington DC set at All Things Go a day after the incident.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, Young has shared a new statement on social media detailing how she is taking a break from her commitments for the \u201cforeseeable future\u201d. Young was due <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lola-young-announces-2025-uk-tour-3875535\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to embark on a UK tour this autumn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Young wrote: \u201cI\u2019m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you all for the love and support. I\u2019m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really hope you\u2019ll give me a second chance once I\u2019ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.\u201d You can see the full post below.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPO7v-iEWvi\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Following Young\u2019s set last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/remi-wolf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Remi Wolf<\/a> addressed the incident during her own performance, telling the crowd: \u201cThat was really fucking scary.\u201d She added:\u00a0\u201cMy friend Lola is backstage, and she is okay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/doechii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doechii<\/a> also showed support for Young during her headline set, saying: \u201cShe\u2019s an incredibly talented artist, and she wasn\u2019t feeling well tonight, and I\u2019m so glad you guys were there to support her and hold her up. Let\u2019s wish her the best, OK everybody? So, we love you Lola! And I want her to hear that and I want her to feel that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The incident came one day after Young pulled out of Audacy\u2019s We Can Survive concert in Newark, New Jersey, on Friday (September 26) night. Hours before the start of the charity show, Young\u2019s manager Nick Shymansky revealed on Young\u2019s Instagram story that he advised her not to perform as a \u201cprotective measure to keep her safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately due to a sensitive matter I have advised Lola Young to pull out of performing at Audacy \u2013 We Can Survive @ Prudential [Center] this evening,\u201d Shymansky wrote. \u201cLola is very open about her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/tag\/lets-talk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mental health<\/a> and there are very occasionally days when myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shymansky ended the statement by adding, \u201cShe is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Young dropped her second album \u2018I\u2019m Only Fucking Myself\u2019, earlier this month. It <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/lola-young-im-only-fucking-myself-review-3892768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scored a three star review from\u00a0<\/a>NME, with El Hunt writing that despite feeling \u201ca little all over the place\u201d, Young had put many \u201csurprising spins on pop into one record [\u2026] largely pulling it off\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the more interesting new names breaking out right now, Young proves that there\u2019s far more to her repertoire than \u2018Messy\u2019, and though it occasionally lacks focus as an album, it also tees up plenty of excitement for whatever\u2019s next.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The musician also spoken to NME previously about the background of \u2018Messy\u2019, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/these-are-the-biggest-songs-and-albums-of-2025-so-far-3851115\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ranked as one of the biggest songs of 2025 so far<\/a>, when she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/ivors-2025-check-out-the-full-winners-list-with-brandon-flowers-charli-xcx-u2-and-more-3864332\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">received the Rising Star Award<\/a>\u00a0at this year\u2019s Ivor Novello Awards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just wrote it from a really personal place and it can sometimes be re-triggering hearing that song because it was so intense,\u201d she told us at the awards ceremony. \u201cI\u2019m out of that place now, out of that difficult time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s just a relatable song.
