{"id":478886,"date":"2025-10-06T20:43:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T20:43:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/478886\/"},"modified":"2025-10-06T20:43:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T20:43:13","slug":"small-town-big-magic-adaptation-dragon-fires-everywhere-ending","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/478886\/","title":{"rendered":"Small Town Big Magic Adaptation, &#8216;Dragon Fires Everywhere&#8217; Ending"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe romantasy series \u201cSmall Town, Big Magic\u201d concluded in September with its final book, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/dragon-fires-everywhere\/\" id=\"auto-tag_dragon-fires-everywhere\" data-tag=\"dragon-fires-everywhere\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dragon Fires Everywhere<\/a>.\u201d But while the four-book journey is over, the authors behind what\u2019s known as the \u201cWitchlore\u201d series have hopes the story will find a second life in an on-screen adaptation \u2014 and say they aren\u2019t necessarily forever done with the witchy characters in the fictional St. Cyprian, Missouri.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cNow that it\u2019s done, it\u2019s even a better pitch because you have the whole story,\u201d Megan Crane, who wrote \u201cSmall Town, Big Magic\u201d and its sequels in the \u201cWitchlore\u201d series alongside Nicole Helm under the pen name <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/hazel-beck\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hazel-beck\" data-tag=\"hazel-beck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hazel Beck<\/a>, told Variety. \u201cWe\u2019d love to have feelers out to have more conversations, absolutely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBut now that the story is fully released, would the duo prefer a TV series or film for a proper on-screen look at Emerson, Rebekah, Ellowyn, Georgie and their battle against the evil Joywood coven? <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI think there are phenomenal filmmakers out there who can do pretty much anything and make magic out of any property,\u201d Crane said. \u201cAs one of the writers of the book, there\u2019s so many details that, to me, seems to translate more to a TV show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tUp next, Crane and Helm are releasing a cozy-horror-romance two-book series, beginning with the first book, \u201cSome Kind of Haunted,\u201d coming next fall. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe have a duology that\u2019s coming next. That\u2019s going to start in fall of 2026,\u201d Helm said. \u201cThe first book is called \u2018Some Kind of Haunted.\u2019 It\u2019s a cozy-horror romance in a Midwestern town. It\u2019s still very Hazel. It\u2019s going to have found family and sense of community and small town coziness and all of that stuff that I think people really responded to with \u2018Witchlore.\u2019 In fact, even in \u2018Witchlore,\u2019 there are some horror-esque elements. So it\u2019s not so much a departure as just like leaning a little bit more into that part of this series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThough no further books are planned in the \u201cWitchlore\u201d series, the Hazel Beck duo aren\u2019t shutting down the idea of revisiting St. Cyprian one day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know that we will say goodbye, actually,\u201d Crane said. \u201cNot because we have other books planned \u2014 but because it\u2019s just part of us now.
