The family behind one of Glasgow\u2019s<\/a> most cherished Greek restaurants, Yiamas, are preparing to open a new city centre venture, Yianni\u2019s, on Saturday, November 1. Named in tribute to husband and father Yiannis Bantouvakis, the new Bath Street gyro shop is a fresh start for mother-and-daughter team Linda and Stascia Bantouvakis following Yiamas\u2019 closure earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Yianni\u2019s has been fully refurbished into a modern Greek street food<\/a> venue, catering to both sit-in diners and takeaway customers.<\/p>\n

The space has been designed with lunchtime crowds and students in mind, offering fast service, affordable prices, and authentic Greek flavours.<\/p>\n

The menu features classic gyros, including pork and chicken options, alongside halloumi and seitan wraps. Greek pastries such as spanakopita, baklava and bougatsa round out the selection, with most dishes starting from under \u00a35.<\/p>\n

Budget-friendly deals include a pie and coffee<\/a> for \u00a34.95, three dips and pita for \u00a312, or a gyro with soda for \u00a39.95.<\/p>\n

Stascia Bantouvakis said: \u201cYianni\u2019s is really special to us. It is a way of honouring my dad while moving forward with something fresh for Glasgow.<\/p>\n

“We wanted to create a place that feels welcoming whether you are grabbing lunch on the go, meeting friends for a bite, or visiting the city and looking to try authentic Greek street food in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

“Everything on the menu is made with love and inspired by the flavours people knew us for at Yiamas, but we have given it a new energy. We cannot wait to open the doors and share it with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The restaurant has been named after Yiannis Bantouvakis as a tribute to his memory and influence, marking a new chapter for the family after running Yiamas for 15 years.<\/p>\n

Yianni\u2019s will serve Greek street food classics including gyros, halloumi wraps, spanakopita, baklava and bougatsa, with dishes designed to suit both quick lunches and leisurely meals.<\/p>\n

Yianni\u2019s will be open seven days a week, aiming to bring the authentic taste of Greece to Glasgow city centre while maintaining the warmth and quality that Yiamas was known for.<\/p>\n
