Russia and Ukraine have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/10\/6\/is-russias-putin-gambling-with-the-safety-of-ukraines-nuclear-stations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused each other<\/a> of being behind recent attacks near the nuclear power station.<\/li>\n<li>Ukrainian drones hit the Feodosia oil terminal in Russian-occupied Crimea on Monday night causing a \u201clarge-scale fire\u201d, Ukraine\u2019s General Staff said in a post on Telegram.<\/li>\n<li>A Russian attack hit the roof of a perinatal centre in Sumy, causing it to catch fire, the head of the Ukrainian President\u2019s Office, Andriy Yermak, said in a post on Telegram. The babies, patients and employees had evacuated to a bomb shelter before the attack, Yermak added.<\/li>\n<li>Russian shelling killed two people and injured five others in Ukraine\u2019s Kharkiv, the region\u2019s governor Oleh Syniehubov said in a post on Telegram.<\/li>\n<li>Russian forces launched drone attacks, air strikes and artillery shelling on Ukraine\u2019s Kherson region, killing one person and injuring three others, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin wrote on Telegram.<\/li>\n<li>A Russian attack killed one person and injured 11 in Ukraine\u2019s Zaporizhia region, governor Ivan Fedorov wrote in a post on Telegram.<\/li>\n<li>A Ukrainian missile attack killed two people in Russia\u2019s Belgorod region, governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said, according to Russia\u2019s state-run TASS news agency.<\/li>\n<li>A Ukrainian drone attack killed one person in Russian-occupied Luhansk, the Russian installed regional government reported in a post on Telegram.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Regional security<\/p>\n<ul class=\"spaced-bullet-spacing\">\n<li>Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters \u201cthere is no reason to blame Russia\u201d for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/10\/4\/munich-airport-resumes-operations-after-more-drone-sightings-halted-flights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent drone sightings<\/a> across Europe, describing the \u201cwhole story\u201d as \u201creally rather strange, to say the very least\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Peskov also said that \u201cmany politicians in Europe\u2026 are now inclined to blame Russia for everything\u201d, and that they do so \u201cunreasonably, indiscriminately\u201d, after German Chancellor Friedrich Merz recently said he assumed Russia was behind the reported drone flights.<\/li>\n<li>A Polish court ruled on Monday that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/30\/ukrainian-diver-with-alleged-links-to-nord-stream-attack-detained-in-poland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ukrainian diver<\/a> wanted by Germany over his alleged involvement in explosions which damaged the Nord Stream gas pipeline must remain in custody for another 40 days, his lawyer said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Politics and diplomacy<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will visit Washington DC on Thursday and Friday this week for a meeting with US President Donald Trump, the Finnish government said on Monday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Military aid<\/p>\n<ul class=\"spaced-bullet-spacing\">\n<li>Trump responded to a question from reporters on Ukraine asking the US to sell long-range <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/30\/why-are-us-tomahawk-missiles-for-ukraine-a-red-line-for-russia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tomahawk missiles<\/a> to some European countries, with the US President responding: \u201cI would ask some questions. I\u2019m not looking to escalate that war.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Trump\u2019s comments come a day after a video was released of Russian President Vladimir Putin saying the sale of Tomahawk missiles would destroy progress made in Moscow\u2019s relationship with Washington.<\/li>\n<li>Czech President Petr Pavel urged political parties to continue supplying ammunition to Ukraine after populists that have pledged to scrap the scheme won a recent election in his country.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIf we were to reduce or even end this support, we would primarily harm ourselves, but ending this support would also have a negative impact on Ukraine, where many more would lose their lives,\u201d Pavel said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Here are the key events from day 1,321 of Russia\u2019s war on Ukraine.
