Time Out recently named\u00a0Camberwell\u00a0the coolest of the capital\u2019s neighbourhoods<\/a>, thanks to its \u2018young-at-heart vibe, the independent spirit [and its] multiculturalism\u2019. In another ranking of London neighbourhoods,\u00a0lifestyle guide\u00a0Muddy Stilettos<\/a>\u00a0named Islington<\/strong> the\u00a0hottest\u00a0place to live in\u00a0the capital right now.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Muddy Stilettos\u00a0called\u00a0Islington a \u2018buzzing area\u2019 that \u2018blends cool city vibes with a laid-back village feel\u2019. That cosy village feel is thanks to\u00a0the Regent\u2019s Canal, New River, and other green spaces, as well as plenty of independent businesses and neighbourhood events.<\/p>\n

Some of Time Out\u2019s favourite things\u00a0in Islington include restaurants Trullo<\/a>, Farang<\/a> and FKA Black Axe Mangal<\/a>, shops like Aria<\/a>, Nourished Communities<\/a>\u00a0and FARA Charity Shop<\/a>\u00a0and cultural hotspots like Union Chapel<\/a> and\u00a0Almeida Theatre<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Obviously, when you\u2019re living (rather than just visiting) somewhere, there are more practical things to think about, too.\u00a0Muddy Stilettos points out that Islington is a particularly great area for families. It\u2019s a prime spot for top schools like St Mary Magdalene Academy for primary age kids, City of London Academy Islington for high schoolers or\u00a0City of London School for Girls, North Bridge House if you want to go private. It\u2019s also an excellent location for commuting, with the Northern line, Victoria line and Overground all at your service at various local stations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

All that considered, Islington isn\u2019t cheap. The average property\u00a0in Islington\u00a0will set you back around \u00a31.15 million,\u00a0but\u00a0flats\u00a0are slightly\u00a0more affordable at an average cost of \u00a3600,000. When it comes to renting, you can expect an average\u00a0two-bed flat in the area to be least \u00a32,300 a month.\u00a0<\/p>\n
