Alternatively, you could catch a direct train, which takes around 45 minutes to an hour.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of direct flights from London to Seville operated by airlines like <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/ryanair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ryanair<\/a>, <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/easyjet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">easyJet<\/a> and <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/british-airways\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Airways<\/a>.\u00a0The journey takes around two hours and 45 minutes, and prices start from \u00a345 in late October on Skyscanner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"485\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/SEI_225262462-3fc0.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-21777213\" alt=\"Cordoba spain locator\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tThe city lies in southern Spain\u2019s Andalusian region (Picture: Metro)<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can fly to Malaga Airport, around 165 kilometres (103 miles) from C\u00f3rdoba. Direct flights from London to <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/malaga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Malaga<\/a> take around two hours and 40 minutes and could work out cheaper, with prices starting at \u00a320 in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The travel time from Malaga to C\u00f3rdoba works out similarly, too; the drive takes around one hour and 45 minutes, while direct trains are roughly 50 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s the weather like in C\u00f3rdoba?<\/p>\n<p>The best time to visit C\u00f3rdoba is during the spring (April to early June) or in Autumn (September to October) when the weather is mild but pleasant enough to explore comfortably.<\/p>\n<p>Being inland in the south of Spain, C\u00f3rdoba experiences more extreme temperatures than coastal areas, and its summers can be unbearably hot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/SEI_225262254-ef7f.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-21777220\" alt=\"Panoramic view of Mosque-Cathedral, Andalusia, Spain\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tTourists may want to avoid the summers in Cordoba, which can get unbearably hot (Picture: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>As such, tourists may want to avoid visiting between July and August when temperatures can soar to extreme highs, often exceeding 40\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>October, in particular, is a great time to visit. While it\u2019s cooler than the intense summer heat, temperatures can reach up to 27\u00b0C \u2013 perfect for some last-minute sun-seeking.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Winter also has pleasant temperatures, between 10-16\u00b0C, and there are fewer tourists for those who want to escape the crowds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What to do in C\u00f3rdoba<\/p>\n<p>Due to its UNESCO World Heritage Status, the city is brimming with history and culture, offering plenty to see and do.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A trip to C\u00f3rdoba would be remiss without a visit to the Mezquita Cathedral, one of the \u2018world\u2019s greatest works of Islamic architecture\u2019, according to Lonely Planet.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-523607072.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-21779028\" alt=\"Interior of Mosque of Cordoba, Spain\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tThe Mezquita Cathedral (above) is one of the \u2018greatest works of Islamic architecture\u2019 (Picture: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Originally built as a mosque during the 8th century, it was converted into a Christian cathedral in the 13th century.<\/p>\n<p>It features horseshoe arches with distinctive red-and-white stripes, a prayer hall with carved columns, and an intricately designed mihrab.<\/p>\n<p>The Mezquita has a five-star rating on TripAdvisor, with visitors declaring it \u2018magnificent\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>One, @trewen, wrote: \u2018The beauty of this place needs to be seen to be believed. The architecture is magnificent. Instead of demolishing the mosque, they constructed a cathedral within its intricate arches, resulting in a unique fusion of Islamic and Christian architecture. This architectural marvel has since stood as a symbol of cultural coexistence and historical continuity. <a title=\"cordoba\" target=\"_blank\" \u2018marvellous\u2019 and \u2018fascinating\u2019 on TripAdvisor.<\/p>\n<p>During your trip, you can also explore the city\u2019s Jewish Quarter, which boasts winding narrow streets, historic
