Multiple retailers have been closing down stores up and down the UK this year. From bargain favourites to beauty<\/a> chain’s, many have been pulling down their shutters.<\/p>\n Now a popular Scots-based clothing retailer<\/a> is joining the ever growing list, with one of its branches based in a busy Glasgow shopping centre set to close down with a huge “everything must go sale.”<\/p>\n Quiz Clothing in the Silverburn Shopping Centre has been spotted with posters announcing that the store is closing down, although the official date remains unknown.<\/p>\n As reported by the Scottish Sun<\/a>, the shopfront of the popular women’s clothing and accessories chain broke the news to customers, with huge red posted in the doorway reading: “Store Closing.”<\/p>\n It added: “All stock must go.”<\/p>\n It won’t be the first closure for the Scots clothing retailer, as it has already permanently closed other branches based in Glasgow, Dundee, Falkirk, Motherwell and Aberdeen.<\/p>\n Founded in Scotland in 1993, Quiz quickly became popular with fashion-conscious women who were looking for trend-led and catwalk-inspired clothing at affordable prices.<\/p>\n After beginning trading with just three Scots stores, the high street firm quickly grew to operate 275 stores across the UK, alongside operating multiple concessions at major retailers such as New Look.<\/p>\n However, in January this year, we reported that the Glasgow-based firm was set to close down ‘one third’ of its stores<\/a>, with 17 Scottish sites and hundreds of jobs at risk following the decision.<\/p>\n In February, the clothing company officially called in insolvency practitioners Teneo<\/a> and announced 23 shops would be shuttering after a “marked decline” sales both online and in store.<\/p>\n Administrators Orion Retail Group Limited, a subsidiary of Teneo, then agreed to acquire 42 Quiz stores from Zandara in a pre-pack insolvency deal.<\/p>\n It comes after the high street retailer recently relocated its location based in the Braehead Shopping Centre to the upper floor, with shoppers previously able to find the store on the lower level.<\/p>\n Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today.<\/p>\n You’ll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland.<\/p>\n No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team.<\/p>\n All you have to do is click here if you’re on mobile<\/strong><\/a>, select ‘Join Community’ and you’re in!<\/p>\n If you’re on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click ‘Join Community’.<\/p>\n We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
