After the charges were thrown out last month, O’Hanna said the case had more to do with Gaza and “what happens if you dare to speak up” rather than “any threat to the public”.

“As people from Ireland, we know oppression, colonialism, famine and genocide. We will not be silent.”

Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O’Neill said at the time that the charges were “part of a calculated attempt to silence those who stand up and speak out against the Israeli genocide in Gaza”.

The members of Kneecap have been accused by some countries of promoting “terrorism” due to statements made in support of Palestinians during Israel’s war on Gaza.

Hungary and Canada have banned the group from entry, and some of the group’s concerts in Germany and Austria were cancelled this year.

The group has consistently maintained it does not support Hezbollah or Hamas or condone violence.

Liam O’Hanna said after case thrown out last month that charges aimed at silencing dissent over Gaza war.…

[3,4
748,393,299,4884,678,7424,269,12,1144,285,712,16,15,1764
0":"post-480891","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-uk","8":"category-united-kingdom","9":"tag-britain","10":"tag-england","11":"tag-europe","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-ireland","14":"tag-israel-palestine-conflict","15":"tag-music","16":"tag-news","17":"tag-northern-ireland","18":"tag-politics","19":"tag-scotland","20":"tag-uk","21":"tag-united-kingdom","22":"tag-wales
["GET
