Virgin Media<\/a> has announced another price hike that will see millions of customers paying more for their broadband deals<\/a>. From October 2025, all new and re-contracting customers will face a fixed increase of \u00a34 per month or \u00a348 a year. The change affects broadband-only<\/a> and broadband-and-TV bundles.<\/p>\n

The move follows similar rises from BT<\/a>, EE<\/a> and Plusnet<\/a>, which all introduced \u00a34 monthly increases earlier this year. Hyperoptic, Vodafone<\/a> and TalkTalk<\/a> have also raised their prices, but by a slightly lower \u00a33 per month. It means Virgin Media<\/a> is now matching the most expensive broadband price policies in the country, with many households being locked into above-inflation rises throughout their contracts.<\/p>\n

According to consumer group Which?<\/a>, Virgin Media introduced a fixed-price rise policy in January 2025 after new rules were brought in by Ofcom.<\/p>\n

At that time, it introduced a price rise of \u00a33.50 per month each year for broadband\u2011only<\/a> plans. But the company has now increased that to \u00a34 per month for all new customers.<\/p>\n

Which? warned that anyone signing or renewing a deal with Virgin Media<\/a> will be subject to the new price terms from day one, and said it’s more important than ever for customers to shop around.<\/p>\n

While many major providers are increasing prices, not all of them do so during your contract period.<\/p>\n

Utility Warehouse and Zen Internet both promise not to raise prices at all while you’re still within your minimum term.<\/p>\n

Sky<\/a> and Now Broadband have avoided locking price hikes into contracts, but they still reserve the right to change prices mid-contract.<\/p>\n

Sky typically announces its annual increases in February.<\/p>\n
