North Somerset<\/a> Neighbourhood Policing Team searched the area and scanned CCTV footage and concluded the call has been made in good faith but nothing was found.<\/p>\nWorle police officers remained in Mead Vale throughout the afternoon and school-pick up to reassure parents.<\/p>\n
Police will be back in the area on Wednesday, October 8, and are inviting concerned parents to speak to officers.<\/p>\n
North Somerset Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This afternoon (Tuesday 7 October), officers responded to a call from a member of the public who reported seeing a male with a weapon in the Mead Vale area of Weston-super-Mare.<\/p>\n
“Schools were advised by staff from our Contact Centre to go into lockdown while an extensive search of the surrounding area was carried out.<\/p>\n
