When you mention Bath<\/strong>, most people will think of Jane Austen, quiet streets lined with Georgian architecture and the famous Roman washhouse that resides in the city\u2019s centre. It\u2019s pretty and historical, but there typically isn\u2019t that much stuff going on. But what if we told you the quaint and quiet\u00a0location had just been named the best city in the UK?<\/p>\n

Luxe travel mag Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller (CNT) has named Britain\u2019s best cities, as voted for by its readers. This comes\u00a0after the travel publication also revealed the planet\u2019s best cities, which you can read about here<\/a>.\u00a0Each city was given a score out of 100, which correlated to\u00a0overall average levels of satisfaction in each place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bath<\/a> was crowned Britain\u2019s best town by\u00a0CNT readers, gaining a score of\u00a097.78. The city jumped a mega\u00a0five places from the 2024 ranking, when it placed in sixth.<\/p>\n

CNT thanked Bath\u2019s Roman attractions alongside a \u2018recently revived restaurant and bar scene\u2019, for the high score. Jane Austen\u2019s\u00a0250th birthday celebrations has also made 2025 the ideal time to visit the bibliophile paradise, as literary events\u00a0have been scheduled across the city throughout the year. Some of Bath\u2019s best hotels<\/a> include the the\u00a0Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa<\/a>, rated five stars by Time Out, and home to 45 immaculate and bespoke rooms; the pink and girly\u00a0No. 15 by GuestHouse Bath<\/a>; and the one-of-a-kind spa hotel,\u00a0the Gainsborough Bath Spa<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coming second in CNT\u2019s ranking was Manchester<\/a> with a score of 96.30, followed by London<\/a>\u00a0in third, which scored\u00a092.56.\u00a0<\/p>\n
