An investigation is underway after a man was pushed onto the train tracks at Liverpool Lime Street station<\/a> on Tuesday evening (October 7). The incident occurred shortly after 5pm on the Wirral<\/a> line platform, where the victim was walking with two friends. As the group moved along the platform, an unknown male approached and pushed the man onto the tracks.<\/p>\n Emergency services were called to the scene, and the victim was assisted back onto the platform by quick-thinking members of the public. He was later taken to hospital.<\/a><\/p>\n Fortunately, police say there are currently no reports of serious injuries.<\/a><\/p>\n British Transport Police (BTP) are now appealing for information and have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. The suspect left the station before officers arrived.<\/p>\n CCTV footage and witness statements are being gathered as part of the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for BTP said: “We believe the man in the image may have information that could assist our enquiries.
