{"id":481469,"date":"2025-10-07T23:33:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T23:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/481469\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T23:33:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T23:33:12","slug":"20-million-fund-to-be-shared-across-75-museums-in-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/481469\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a320 million fund to be shared across 75 museums in England"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A \u00a320 million fund will be distributed across museums in England to ensure they remain open, the Government has announced.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum Renewal Fund will be shared among 75 local and regional museums with the aim of improving and protecting public access to collections, community and educational programmes, opening hours and job opportunities for millions of visitors and local communities.<\/p>\n<p>The grants also aim to strengthen the museums\u2019 ability to attract tourists and employers to regions across the country, ensuring they remain fit for the future.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1759879537342_2.jpg--.jpg\" width=\"640\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Birmingham Museums Trust, Barnsley Museums and Discover Bucks Museum are among the 75 to receive a grant, which could range from \u00a311,000 to more than \u00a31 million.<\/p>\n<p>Among those receiving the highest grants are York Museums Trust, which will receive \u00a31 million, and Hampshire Cultural Trust, which is expected to get \u00a31,177,430.<\/p>\n<p>Museums minister Baroness Fiona Twycross said: \u201cMuseums offer a place where people from all backgrounds can learn, be inspired and delve into our rich history, helping to understand the stories that led us to where we are today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Museum Renewal Fund is contributing to the delivery of our plan for change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt ensures much-loved civic museums can remain open and continue to provide opportunities for future generations to learn about our shared heritage and how their local community has played its part in our national story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport\u2019s (DCMS), the fund aims to strengthen the nationwide network of museums and ensure that local communities have access to culture \u201cfor generations to come\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It is part of the \u00a3270 million Arts Everywhere Fund and the Government\u2019s wider Plan For Change to support economic growth and increase opportunities nationwide.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1759879537342_1.jpg--.jpg\" width=\"640\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Sir Nicholas Serota, chairman of Arts Council England, said: \u201cTravelling through cities, towns and villages across the UK, I have seen that museums and art galleries are often a proud focal point in communities, telling important stories about history, people and place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis funding will provide a crucial lifeline for local museums in stabilising their financial situation and building towards a sustainable future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full list of recipients receiving a share of the fund:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/><strong><br \/>\u2013 London:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Headstone Manor &amp;
