A brand-new Christmas market is set to make its debut this festive season in a brand new South West location. Two markets are scheduled at Radford Quarry in Plymouth on Saturday, November 29, and Saturday, December 13, at the formerly abandoned quarry that has recently been transformed into the Stones and Stars glamping site.<\/p>\n

A variety of stalls and traders will be offering an assortment of craft items, food produce and speciality meats, all accompanied by a bar and live music, creating an ‘olde worlde’ atmosphere amidst nature.<\/p>\n

The traditional market ambiance will be further enhanced by festive lights and a Christmas tree, with fire-toasted marshmallows available for enjoyment on hay bales, reports Plymouth Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Stones and Stars Christmas Markets promise to be a new hotspot for locals and visitors alike to partake in festive fun, shopping, and celebrations. Plymouth Christmas traders still have the opportunity to sign up to sell their goods in this picturesque setting, with many already securing their pitches, but a few spots remain open.<\/p>\n

These festive market events are being coordinated by Peter Sprigg, who operates the glamping site in Radford Quarry, owned by Joe Radmore. Peter also runs Spriggy’s Street Food from a revamped ice cream van beside Radford Lake, which will be dishing out tasty food during the market days.<\/p>\n

Peter said: “We’re still looking for a few more traders to complete our festive line-up – if you’d like to be part of the markets, please get in touch. Bring your friends and family and enjoy the magic of Christmas with us.<\/p>\n

“There will be crafts, food produce and meats from Portugal as well as roasted chestnuts, it will be a traditional olde worlde atmosphere. The markets will run from 11 – 3pm, but going into dusk people can stay on for drinks and food. We hope the surrounding local community will walk down and join us too.”<\/p>\n

The Radford Quarry site was deserted in the 1960s and wildlife took over the space, it’s now home to tawny owls and other birds of prey, a stronghold of badgers, foxes, several rare plants and the critically endangered horrid ground weaver spider.
