Bosses at a popular bar and restaurant<\/a> at an historic Manchester building have revealed the result of an elegant makeover, which pays homage to the 1970s and 80s.<\/p>\n The Cosy Club, in the Corn Exchange<\/a> building, has undergone a huge revamp as it marks its 10-year anniversary in the city. It was one of the first venues to open there following a huge \u00a330m restoration back in 2015.<\/p>\n The Grade II-listed building<\/a>, finished in 1837, was originally constructed as a place for merchants and farmers to trade. Over the years, it has housed nightclubs and market emporiums. It is now home to of restaurants, bars, hotels and ‘immersive experiences’.<\/p>\n The Cosy Club boasts wrap-around views of Exchange Square<\/a> and Manchester Cathedral through its floor to ceiling windows with a ‘jaw-dropping’ domed ceiling serving as a focal point of the venue.<\/p>\n The new look draws inspiration from ‘the most stylish elements and iconic design of the 1970s and 80s’ and features bespoke carpets, wallpapers, lighting and one-off pieces. There are also elegant copper walls and cosy sofa chairs.<\/p>\n Its all-day menu comprising of fresh and modern classics, alongside brunches and gluten-free and vegan options. It features curries, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers and fish dishes, as well as a 10oz rib-eye steak, a Thai green chicken curry and a king prawn and cod linguine.<\/p>\n Aimed at ‘transporting’ guests through ‘eras of cosy glamour’, the venue will also serve a range of handcrafted cocktails – ranging from club classics to prohibition-inspired delights, like the Speakeasy Old Fashioned and The Clover Club, which features gin, Chambord, raspberry syrup and lemon juice.<\/p>\n While boasting a bold new look, many of the historic building’s original features have also been kept in place, including its staircase and tiles. The bar<\/a> top, which has been in place since The Cosy Club opened, has also been kept in place and was reclaimed from late-1990s Liverpool Lime Street Station pub The Head of Steam.<\/p>\n General manager Simon Cairns said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be open and welcoming regulars and new faces back through the doors once again – it\u2019s an incredible transformation!<\/p>\n \u201cFrom the moment they enter, guests are transported to an era of elegance, style, and glamour where they can enjoy really excellent breakfasts as well as fabulous brunch, lunch, and dinner options from our brand-new menus.
