\n The zoo in the capital now has a fifth member of its primate pack, with the birth of newborn on Friday 26 September to mum Sheli and dad Jamal. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n The youngster will be named in the coming weeks, once the sex has been determined.\n<\/p>\n

\n Baby L’Hoest’s monkeys are born with orange fur and generally cling to their mothers for the first few months of their life.\n<\/p>\n

\n As such the baby will only be sexed and named by zookeepers once it has reached a certain level of maturity.\n<\/p>\n

\n They are classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, mainly due to habitat loss from agriculture and logging, as well as hunting for bushmeat.\n<\/p>\n
