<\/p>\nThis week, Busworld Europe opened its doors in Brussels with its biggest edition yet, bringing together nearly 550 exhibitors from around 40 countries. The event, running from 4\u20139 October at Brussels Expo, has displayed a total of 284 buses and coaches \u2014 252 inside the exhibition halls and 32 outside for demonstrations.<\/p>\n
A record 81 vehicle manufacturers are represented, with the exhibition space spanning 82,000 square metres, up from 75,000 m\u00b2 at the previous edition.<\/p>\n

Major global and European premieres are taking place across the halls for both the bus and coach sectors.<\/p>\n
For example,\u00a0MAN Truck & Bus has launched its first fully electric touring coach<\/a>, the Lion\u2019s Coach 14 E, capable of ranges up to 650 km.<\/p>\n IVECO BUS is presenting new models<\/a>, including the electric eDAILY LE low-entry minibus and the G-WAY midibus compatible with biomethane.<\/p>\n Daimler Buses<\/a> has unveiled the Mercedes-Benz eIntouro, its first series-production electric intercity bus, and new NMC4 batteries for the eCitaro range.<\/p>\n This year\u2019s event places renewed emphasis on the coach and intercity bus markets, widely regarded as more challenging to decarbonise. Long-distance services demand higher energy density, fast refuelling, and extensive infrastructure \u2014 factors that make the transition more complex than for urban buses.<\/p>\n Developments also continue in deploying autonomous technologies, with Karsan presenting its new Autonomous e-JEST<\/a>\u00a0and Otokar demonstrating<\/a> two autonomous vehicles in the outdoor exhibition.<\/p>\n Overall, the premieres highlight the industry\u2019s focus on electrification, alternative fuels and digital technologies to support fleet operations and safety.<\/p>\n
