{"id":482769,"date":"2025-10-08T11:04:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T11:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/482769\/"},"modified":"2025-10-08T11:04:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T11:04:13","slug":"tottenham-wanted-sibling-reunion-but-harry-gray-pens-new-leeds-contract-instead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/482769\/","title":{"rendered":"Tottenham wanted sibling reunion but Harry Gray pens new Leeds contract instead"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>TBR Football understands that youngster Harry Gray has already agreed terms on his first professional contract at Leeds United, which can be signed later this week to follow in his brother Archie\u2019s footsteps.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/archie-gray\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Archie Gray<\/a> moved from <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/leeds-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds United<\/a> to Tottenham last summer in a \u00a340million move, despite <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/english-club-have-40m-bid-rejected-for-superb-tottenham-target-spurs-still-interested\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gray almost securing a move to fellow Premier League outfit Brentford<\/a> under now-boss Thomas Frank.<\/p>\n<p>He was thrust into the deep end by then-manager <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/ange-postecoglou\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ange Postecoglou<\/a> at centre-back whilst the Lilywhites had an injury crisis, and although he performed well as a makeshift defender, he wasn\u2019t rewarded with much game time in his natural positions of right-back or central midfield.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btbf-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@BeyondTheBackFour?sub_confirmation=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">    <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"object-fit:unset\" src=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/custom\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/podcast\/btbf-title.svg\" alt=\"\"\/>  Click to subscribe to the podcast <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"object-fit:unset;height:30px;width:fit-content\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/custom\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/podcast\/youtube.svg\" alt=\"\"\/>  <\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, in a twist, Tottenham also tried to sign younger brother Harry Gray to accompany his sibling, though <strong>TBR Football<\/strong> can reveal that won\u2019t be the case with the 17-year-old agreeing terms to stay at Elland Road.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2236807041-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Archie Gray playing for Tottenham Hotspur as they faced Doncaster Rovers\" class=\"wp-image-993620\" \/>Photo by Sebastian Frej\/MB Media\/Getty ImagesExclusive: Harry Gray agrees Leeds contract and halts Tottenham reunion<\/p>\n<p>Archie Gray turned 17 on Wednesday, at which point he can now be tied to Leeds and not poached away by any <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/premier-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> rivals.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, we can confirm that a number of rivals tried to land Gray, who has long been regarded as one of Leeds\u2019 top talents.<\/p>\n<p>We can confirm that Tottenham, <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/chelsea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chelsea<\/a>, Man City and Liverpool were all amongst those interested, whilst RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund were also amongst those keen.<\/p>\n<p>However, Gray \u2013 the brother of Archie \u2013 wants to follow his siblings\u2019 footsteps and become a Leeds regular at this early point in his career.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TBR Football\u2019s<\/strong> chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, stated that Leeds have a plan in place for the young striker, even being confident of keeping the teenager.
