Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the royal family five years ago and the relationship has remained tense ever since, with the couple even being excluded from an upcoming event<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s believed they won’t be attending the royal family’s Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, despite the Duke of Sussex<\/a> recently taking steps to end the feud by reuniting with his father King Charles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The relationship between the Sussexes and The Firm first broke down when they stepped down as senior royals, with Meghan later confessing she wasn’t clued in on royal etiquette – something former butler Grant Harrold agrees with. Meghan recently made headlines as she made a surprise trip to Paris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to The Express US about Meghan’s time in the royal family, Harrold said, “Meghan saying that she didn\u2019t understand royal etiquette makes sense because she is from America so she wasn\u2019t expected to know how to do things.<\/p>\n

“She may have watched the royal family, but she wouldn\u2019t know the etiquette and rules.”<\/p>\n

Meghan opened up about how much she struggled in the royal family during an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey.<\/p>\n

“Unlike what you see in the movies, there\u2019s no class on how to\u2026 how to speak, how to cross your legs, how to be royal,” she disclosed.<\/p>\n

The Duchess of Sussex added, “There\u2019s none of that training. That might exist for other members of the family. That was not something that was offered to me.”<\/p>\n
