\nPrince Harry was almost \u2018set up\u2019 with Kourtney Kardashian<\/p>\n
Speaking to HELLO!<\/a> magazine, Katherine recalled a celebrity gathering at fellow comic Jimmy Carr\u2019s house in 2016, just months before Harry met Meghan Markle<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI walked in and saw Kourtney Kardashian with Princess Beatrice,\u201d she said. \u201cI went straight over to her because I knew who she was. I\u2019m so invested in the Kardashians and their reality show.\u201d<\/p>\n Katherine couldn\u2019t resist inserting herself into Kourtney\u2019s love life, especially given Kourtney\u2019s on-again, off-again drama with Scott Disick at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018You need to leave Scott,’\u201d the comedian recounted. \u201cAnd she said, \u2018How can I? He\u2019s in my house right now.\u2019 I told her, \u2018Don\u2019t go back to the house. You need to leave him.’\u201d<\/p>\n As the conversation turned to dating, Kourtney asked Katherine who she could even date, and that\u2019s when the actress made a surprising suggestion.<\/p>\n \u201cPrince Harry, maybe? She was right there in the UK,\u201d Katherine quipped. \u201cIt seemed obvious.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Katherine may have been joking, she saw the logic in pairing two people from globally famous families. A Kardashian-Windsor crossover? That\u2019s tabloid gold.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Prince Harry had been open about the difficulty of dating as a royal.<\/p>\n In one interview a few years earlier in 2012, he told CBS News: \u201cI\u2019m 27 years old, and not so much searching for someone to fulfil the [royal] role, but obviously, you know, finding someone that would be willing to take it on.\u201d<\/p>\n Whether Katherine ever mentioned the idea to Harry remains unclear. There\u2019s no record or suggestion that Kourtney and Harry ever met.<\/p>\n Of course, the universe had other plans.<\/p>\n Within weeks or months of that star-studded party, Prince Harry was introduced to Suits actress Meghan Markle<\/a> in July 2016.<\/p>\n The pair hit it off almost instantly.<\/p>\n In his memoir Spare, Harry revealed he first noticed Meghan through an Instagram photo with a dog-ear filter and was immediately intrigued.<\/p>\n Their matchmaker is widely believed to be Violet von Westenholz, a close friend of Harry\u2019s. However, fashion designer Misha Nonoo\u2019s name has also been floated.<\/p>\n That meeting changed royal history. By November 2017, the couple were engaged. In May 2018, they were married at Windsor Castle<\/a>, in a ceremony watched by millions.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Kourtney eventually found lasting love in the world of music, not monarchy. She began dating Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and the pair tied the knot in 2022.
