\n\tThe fourth annual Arts of Healing Foundation Fashion Show<\/a> drew a record-breaking crowd of more than 350 guests to the Post Oak Hotel<\/a> on April 4, celebrating an unstoppable force in Houston\u2019s healthcare community: Women in medicine.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDitching their white coats and scrubs, 18 honorees from every corner of the Houston medical scene traded operating-room-ready gear for Tootsies<\/a>\u2019 latest designs, curated by creative director Fady Armanious<\/strong>. With specialties spanning oncology to emergency medicine and roles from surgeons to administrators, these women stepped onto what organizers dubbed the \u201crunway of role models.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd owned it.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPresented by DFC Medical<\/a>, Dr. Isaac <\/strong>and Lori Raijman<\/strong>, and Houston Medical Imaging<\/a>, the evening balanced glam with gratitude. Rose-hued drapery and floral linens by Blooming Gallery<\/a> set the tone, while a fast-selling raffle raised additional funds in support of the foundation\u2019s mission: Fusing art and medicine to foster healing and creativity for patients and physicians alike.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe models? A powerhouse lineup of 18 trailblazing women in medicine, each transforming the runway into a celebration of purpose and personal style. Among them were Dr. Connie Wang<\/strong>, Jayne Johnston<\/strong>, Dr. Susan Mathew<\/strong>, Dr. Alexandra Stevens<\/strong>, Dr. Magdalena Sanz Cortes<\/strong>, Dr. Katie Bolt<\/strong>, Dr. M. Monica Gramatges<\/strong>, Dr. Christina Paruthi<\/strong>, Dr. Shaden Khalaf<\/strong>, Tricia McGusty<\/strong>, Dr. Emily Jamea<\/strong>, Dr. Gwyn Richardson<\/strong>, Dr. Shirley Lima<\/strong>, Dr. Sonali Patel<\/strong>, Dr. Shanda Blackmon<\/strong>, Dr. Gina Blocker<\/strong>, Dr. Jessica Traver<\/strong>, and Dr. Dalia Moghazy <\/strong>\u2014 each earning applause as they showcased not just fashion, but the fierce compassion and expertise that define their careers.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSince its founding eight years ago, the foundation has contributed over $700,000 to local nonprofits, including The Elkins Pancreas Center at Baylor College of Medicine<\/a>, The Lung Force<\/a>, March of Dimes<\/a>, and The Sunshine Kids Foundation<\/a>. Its year-round programming includes YouTube art lessons and in-person art classes for children undergoing cancer treatment, often led by physicians themselves \u2014 along with a special summer camp for young patients.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore the night wrapped, attendees eagerly grabbed save-the-date cards for the next big event: The Physician Art Show and Gala on November 8.\n<\/p>\n
