A new Greggs store is set to open and will become one of the biggest in Birmingham<\/a> and Solihull<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Located on the Stratford Road in Shirley, the Greggs will move into the unit once occupied by Early Years Schoolwear.<\/p>\n

The new bakery chain will be next door to The Pet Centre which closed <\/a>last month after 45 years in Shirley.<\/p>\n

Work is now underway to transform the bakery from a former school uniform shop.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the opening, hungry Shirley shoppers won’t have to look far to find a nearby store.<\/p>\n

Located at Parkgate Shopping Centre, the Shirley Greggs store has a 4.0 score on Google Reviews.<\/p>\n

Outside of Shirley, there is another Greggs nearby, located near Hall Green<\/a> Station.<\/p>\n

Whilst the exact date of opening is unconfirmed, Greggs confirmed the bakery would be open in a matter of ‘weeks’.<\/p>\n

A Greggs spokesperson said: “Greggs is due to open a new shop in Shirley within the next few weeks.<\/p>\n
