Dejphon Chansiri is yet to agree a Sheffield Wednesday takeover despite the ongoing crisis at Hillsborough.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Sheffield Wednesday players have not been paid for September<\/a>, making it five of the past seven months where they have not received their wages on time.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Labour Party is currently undergoing the process of fast-tracking the introduction of the independent regulator, with a view to its powers being switched on by November. <\/p>\n The regulator will have the power to take control of Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>\u00a0if\u00a0Chansiri<\/a>\u00a0is seen as threatening the club\u2019s existence.\u00a0<\/p>\n Former Man City<\/a> financial adviser Stefan Borson<\/a> exclusively told Football Insider<\/strong> the regulator will try and step in to ensure the Owls don\u2019t go into administration. <\/p>\n Sheffield Wednesday have been hit with six embargoes<\/a> as the crisis continues to deepen in South Yorkshire. <\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, Borson said: \u201cThe ownership are playing with fire because I think it\u2019s clear that what they\u2019re risking here is becoming the first poster boy of the independent regulator when it\u2019s up and running next month. <\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s already enough signs that the government and the regulator are thinking about Sheffield Wednesday, and are thinking about how they need to intervene to stop there being a big issue with the club. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a club of a scale that nobody could contemplate a situation where it was to go into administration or worse liquidation. Therefore, this is just the sort of situation where the regulator is going to try and step in.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Sheffield Wednesday are estimated to be worth around \u00a370million<\/a>\u00a0despite Chansiri insisting he wants closer to \u00a3100m.\u00a0<\/p>\n Independent regulator could \u2018make an example\u2019 of Dejphon Chansiri<\/p>\n Chansiri now just has weeks to agree a takeover<\/a> before the regulator could get involved at Hillsborough. <\/p>\n Borson said: \u201cI think the owner is surely aware of that situation with the IFR, but he is currently playing with fire and really risking being made an example of because it\u2019s a real situation, it\u2019s real distress. <\/p>\n \u201cNobody wants the situation where the players are not being paid. That\u2019s the first sign of very significant problems. <\/p>\n \u201cObviously, there\u2019s also the other staff who are also not being paid, I would think.
