Weather maps have turned purple with eight counties in England set to be hit by snowfall\"EightEight counties in England face snow in October <\/p>\n

Although we’re still in early autumn and conditions are mild, the weather is expected to take a dip in a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n

According to maps from WX Charts, snow <\/a>could arrive on Friday, October 24.<\/p>\n

A total of eight counties in England could be hit that day – including two in the Midlands – with weather <\/a>charts turning purple.<\/p>\n

Around 2cm of snowfall is expected to descend on Staffordshire<\/a> and Shropshire.<\/p>\n

Other counties in England that could experience snowfall <\/a>that day is Cheshire, Derbyshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, parts of central Wales and northern Scotland could be hit.<\/p>\n

The Met Office warned that showers <\/a>could take place in the period between October 23 and November 6.<\/p>\n

Some rainfall could be heavy.<\/p>\n

In its long-range forecast from October 23 to November 6, the Met Office said: “This period is likely to see changeable conditions across the UK with low pressure systems tending to dominate.<\/p>\n

“Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy in places.<\/p>\n
