\n\tEver wondered what it\u2019s like to grow up in a literal palace (duh!). It\u2019s not all fairytales and fancy dresses \u2014 there is a lot of hard work that goes into royal life. However, as Princess Diana showed us<\/a> a long time ago, it can be just as fun as we imagined it. Prince William<\/a> revealed that a fun childhood tradition he did as a kid was passed down to his kids, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, and it sounds amazing.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview on Eugene Levy\u2019s Apple TV+ Show The Reluctant Traveler, Prince William took Levy on a tour through Windsor Castle. As they walked through the historic residence, the Prince of Wales said that St. George\u2019s Hall was one of his \u201cfavorite parts\u201d of the place because of fond memories, per Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy cousins and I and the family, would chase each other up and down here and play silly games,\u201d Prince William recounted. \u201cAnd I remember these carpets weren\u2019t here, and there are a couple of spots where you used to have to watch out because you\u2019d get massive splinters because the floor is old wood.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen you went running off, you\u2019d end up coming away with an enormous splinter,\u201d he continued. \u201cEveryone would say \u2018stop, stop\u2019 and someone would have an enormous splinter in their foot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKids running through the halls and getting hurt? It sounds exactly like family get-togethers at my house, and we love that the royals<\/a> got to experience this normal childhood thing too. Now, Prince William\u2019s kids, who he shares with wife Kate Middleton, get to join in on the fun, although it\u2019s a little safer now.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the interview, Prince William said, \u201cNow it\u2019s a lot easier,\u201d adding, \u201cMy children don\u2019t realize how lucky they are. They\u2019ve got a big old carpet. They can run down and there\u2019s no splinters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe proud dad mentioned that his kids help keep his youthful spirit alive, as he added that he and the kids will \u201ccome in after hours [to] chase each other around sometimes.\u201d Fun dad alert!<\/p>\n

\n\tThat\u2019s not the only way this family likes to have fun together. Earlier this week, an insider told The Sun<\/a> that the Waleses will take George and Charlotte with them to a pub every week for family trivia night.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe quiz is actually very tricky but also a lot of fun,\u201d one of their pub quiz rivals told the outlet. \u201cMy lips are sealed on whether \u2018Team Wales\u2019 has ever won first prize.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt seems like the Wales truly enjoy spending time with their kids, keeping things light and fun and not always serious at home. This matches with something Prince William said previously about his kids. At an event in September, someone asked if Louis was \u201ca bit of a handful,\u201d and the prince tactfully replied, \u201cHe\u2019s a character, but he\u2019s a very good boy,\u201d per Hello!<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tLater, he compared Louis to George, saying that there is \u201cfive years between [them],\u201d but they aren\u2019t so different at home. \u201cBehind closed doors it\u2019s a completely different ball game,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
