A person has been found dead on a railway line near a Liverpool station. British Transport Police were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 2.20pm today (April 24) on the line near Edge Hill railway station.<\/p>\n

Officers, paramedics and the fire service attended and a person was pronounced dead. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.<\/p>\n

There is major disruption on services between Liverpool Lime Street and Liverpool South Parkway this afternoon<\/a>, with trains cancelled and delayed.<\/p>\n

National Rail said: “The emergency services are dealing with an incident, closing lines between Liverpool Lime Street and Huyton<\/a> \/ Liverpool South Parkway.<\/p>\n

“Trains to \/ from Liverpool Lime Street may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes.<\/p>\n

“Major disruption is expected until 18:00.”<\/p>\n
