Despite such challenges, it exceeded its contracted targets, supported businesses through crisis and recovery, and created long-lasting opportunities across all six boroughs.<\/p>\n<p>Produced by the University of Liverpool\u2019s Institute of Popular Music, the report not only celebrates these successes but also identifies challenges, areas for improvement, and recommendations to guide the future work of the Music Board and the \u00a36.75m UKRI-funded MusicFutures Creative Cluster, ensuring sustained support for the sector.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"710\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Screenshot-2025-10-08-at-10.42.21-e1759891525795.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-227443\"\/>Credit: Liverpool City Region Combined Authority\u2019s Strategic Investment Fund<\/p>\n<p>Local Impacts:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>88 local businesses supported with growth and export funding.<\/li>\n<li>All funded businesses still operational, with many expanding and creating new jobs.<\/li>\n<li>Over 50 new full-time jobs created through Future Yard in Birkenhead.<\/li>\n<li>52 paid traineeships delivered, including placements with Ditto Music, Sentric and 24 Kitchen Street.<\/li>\n<li>3,200+ young people engaged in careers advice, training and events across Sefton, St Helens, Wirral and Liverpool.<\/li>\n<li>Ring-fenced funding for Black Music Action Group projects, ensuring greater inclusion and diversity.<\/li>\n<li>New inward investment: Rough Trade, Boxpark, and 30 Century Management establishing operations in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples from the report include Future Yard\u2019s Sound Check, which has trained over 120 young people in live music skills and created paid pathways into work, and Michael Aldag, who used growth funding to record new music and rebuild his career after being dropped by a label \u2014 going on to play Reading and Leeds festivals.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"707\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Screenshot-2025-10-08-at-10.41.52-e1759891490892.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-227441\"\/>Credit: Liverpool City Region Combined Authority\u2019s Strategic Investment Fund<br \/>\nKevin McManus, Head of UNESCO City of Music and lead for the LCR Music Board, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis programme proved the power of investing in music. It helped businesses survive and grow, gave young people pathways into careers, and made sure opportunities were spread across the whole region \u2013 not just the city centre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Mike Wharton, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Business, Investment and Trade, said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLiverpool City Region is proving how investment in culture drives economic growth.
