Following the alleged weak performance of Prince Harry\u2019s<\/a> recent Netflix<\/a><\/strong> projects, Meghan Markle<\/a><\/strong> is said to be \u201ccarrying\u201d her husband.<\/p>\n

With Meghan the creative force behind their production company, industry insiders are calling Archewell a \u201cone-woman operation.\u201d As the one with television experience, Meghan is now the \u201cpreferred collaborator\u201d for their five-year $100 million contract<\/a> with the streaming service.<\/p>\n

Industry insiders share concerns for Prince Harry\u2019s projects<\/p>\n

\u201cMeghan is the one with the media instincts,\u201d a senior production source told Radar Online<\/a>. \u201cShe\u2019s polished, camera-ready, and understands how to build a brand. Even though her programs are always mocked, she still understands the camera from her acting days \u2026 Harry\u2019s ideas haven\u2019t worked \u2013 the audience just isn\u2019t there. At this point, she\u2019s the face of the business and he\u2019s taking a back seat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though the Sussexes first signed their Netflix deal in 2020, to date only a handful of projects have made it to air. They had hoped to produce programs that would \u201cinspire hope and compassion,\u201d though much of their work has provoked criticism and controversy.<\/p>\n

While their 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan got high viewership numbers, some saw it as an attack on the royal family<\/a>. Since then, Harry\u2019s projects have struggled.<\/p>\n

Harry\u2019s polo documentary, Polo, drew fewer than 500,000 viewers and was widely panned. Failing to connect with the audience, \u201cthe subject felt out of touch, and the production lacked energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Meghan\u2019s lifestyle and cooking show With Love, Meghan<\/a> has a solid following and earned a second season renewal. Alongside the show\u2019s launch, the Duchess announced her As Ever wine partnership<\/a>, displaying what the Netflix execs call \u201cthe Meghan effect.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMeghan\u2019s work might divide opinion, but it gets attention,\u201d a Hollywood source shared. \u201cThat\u2019s what Netflix cares about. The renewal<\/a> was as much about her profile as the program\u2019s performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Meghan is enjoying something of a second season rebound, Harry\u2019s reputation in the entertainment industry has waned. His projects have underperformed, and \u201che\u2019s lost momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople think Meghan\u2019s carrying the whole operation,\u201d another source added. \u201cMeghan has turned herself into a functioning media brand, [while] Harry hasn\u2019t found his footing. The feeling in Hollywood is that she\u2019s now completely running the show.\u201d<\/p>\n
