Leeds United<\/a> centre-back Joe Rodon<\/a> could be a shock target for Bayern Munich<\/a>, as reports suggest he\u2019s a long-standing target for Vincent Kompany.<\/strong><\/p>\n

United\u2019s positive start to life back in the Premier League has been built on their impressive defensive solidity.<\/p>\n

At the heart of that has been the centre-back pairing of Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon. The duo have come into the top flight from the Championship with relative ease<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His form will come as little surprise to his international manager Craig Bellamy. The Wales boss previously said the centre-back would be a player that \u201ca lot of clubs\u201d would want to sign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TEAMtalk<\/a> claim that the 27-y\/o could still be someone of interest for now-Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany, having worked with Bellamy at Turf Moor. Kompany worked at Burnley from 2022 to 2024, before leaving for Bayern after the Clarets\u2019 relegation.<\/p>\n

A \u00a310million<\/a> signing back in the summer of 2024, Rodon is suggested to have trebled his value since moving from North London to West Yorkshire. <\/p>\n

That wouldn\u2019t be a surprise to anyone, especially now the towering defender is finally adding set-piece threat to his game. <\/p>\n

He came within inches of scoring in back-to-back games against Spurs, after netting just his fourth career goal against Bournemouth.<\/p>\n

Wales face England on Thursday night at Wembley. Rodon will hope for better luck than the 2024 Playoff Final, joined by teammates Karl Darlow and Ethan Ampadu.<\/p>\n

His superb recovery pace, box-defending and aerial presence would suit a side playing a high line each week. On top of that, his ball-playing has improved significantly at Elland Road.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no chance that United let Rodon go without getting a big sum for him. However, his performances continuing to this level will no doubt attract high-profile clubs.<\/p>\n
