A GROUP of twelve sixth form students successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition on 18th and 19th September. The students tackled challenging 30km routes and tested their teamwork.<\/p>\n

The two-day expedition saw the participants navigating countryside trails with only a map and compass whilst carrying all their own camping equipment and food. Despite sore feet, heavy backpacks, and a few wrong turns, spirits remained high as teams supported each other to reach their checkpoints.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Una, Head Girl at St\u00a0Mark\u2019s said \u201cthe journey was long and tiring, there were multiple times that I thought of just resting and not continuing, but with the help of my friends and being around such fun, bright spirited people it enabled me to carry on. It felt so free and fun to complete this adventure with my peers and all in all a experience & memory that will never leave me\u201d.<\/p>\n

With the Bronze expedition now completed, students are turning their attention to their volunteering, skills and physical sections of the award.<\/p>\n
