Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner has been linked with the Manchester United job despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe backing Ruben Amorim, and the German has now spoken out again on his future<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace’s head coach Oliver Glasner has sidestepped speculation about potentially taking over as Manchester United<\/a> manager amidst ongoing pressure on Ruben Amorim.<\/p>\n

Prior to the international break, Amorim<\/a> was under intense scrutiny following a loss to Brentford. However, a 2-0 triumph over Sunderland eased some of the immediate worries, although much more is anticipated from him.<\/p>\n

Amongst the bookies, Glasner is one of the names touted as a possible successor to Amorim. The Austrian led Palace to FA Cup<\/a> glory last season and, if not for a UEFA ruling, the Eagles<\/a> would be participating in this season’s Europa League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Until last weekend, Palace were the only team in the division yet to taste defeat, but a loss to Everton put an end to that. This week, Glasner received the Coach of the Year award at Austria’s Sporthilfe Gala in recognition of his achievements at Palace.<\/p>\n

Upon receiving the award, the 51-year-old remained tight-lipped about being linked with other roles, including United, emphasising his focus on Palace for now. “As I said, I try to keep it at bay, whether I’m successful or unsuccessful, partly for self-protection,” he replied when asked about the United rumours.<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle for the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.<\/p>\n

“A few years ago, I got into the habit of living in the here and now and enjoying it. It’s simply better when you don’t lose 19 games than when you don’t win 19.<\/p>\n

“Then the atmosphere at the training ground in the morning is simply better; everything is easier. I’m no less ambitious, no less demanding, and just as annoyed when we lose, like now.<\/p>\n

“Even if it was the first defeat in six months: I’m one of the worst losers in the world, and I’m still annoyed about it today.”<\/p>\n

Glasner’s remarks reveal much about his character, despite uncertainty surrounding his future at Palace.<\/p>\n

The manager’s contract expires at the end of this season, with star midfielder Adam Wharton also hinting he’s waiting to discover whether his boss will sign an extension.<\/p>\n

Should Glasner become available, there’s no indication that United would seek to replace Amorim.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Business<\/a> Podcast this week, Ratcliffe confirmed he wants to give Amorim his full three years to demonstrate his worth at the club.<\/p>\n

Next month marks one year since Amorim arrived at Old Trafford<\/a> following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal at the end of October.<\/p>\n

During that period, the Portuguese boss has guided United to the Europa League final, though this achievement came alongside a 15th-place Premier League<\/a> finish.<\/p>\n
