The “friendliest cities” in Scotland<\/a> have been named. Topping the list is a bustling city with a “reputation for knowing how to party”.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, October 7, Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller published<\/a> a roundup of the most friendly cities in the UK. The list, which was voted on by the magazine’s readers, features three Scottish cities.<\/p>\n Coming in at number one on the overall list is Glasgow<\/a>. The city received a score of 97 out of 100, based on overall average levels of satisfaction.<\/p>\n Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller described Glasgow as “the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me of the nation\u2019s heartfelt hospitality”, and singled out the city’s friendly residents. The magazine also noted Glasgow’s nightlife, praising its pubs<\/a>, cocktails bars, and music venues.<\/p>\n The experts stated: “As Scotland\u2019s most populated city, this city represents the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me of the nation\u2019s heartfelt hospitality, so expect to encounter generous people wherever you go.<\/p>\n “Aside from being sociable, Glaswegians also have a reputation for knowing how to party. Think of cool cocktail bars, historic boozers, and, the cherry on top, legendary music venues, which have given rise to Glasgow’s UNESCO City of Music status.<\/p>\n “Art lovers are also spoilt for choice by the thousands of masterpieces housed across extravagant galleries, or for something more spontaneous, follow the colourful trail of street murals littered across the centre. With so much to offer, we challenge you to resist the irresistible Glaswegian charm.”<\/p>\n Elsewhere, according to Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller, Edinburgh<\/a> is the second-friendliest city in Scotland. The Scottish capital placed at number three on the UK-wide list, with a satisfaction score of 93.04.<\/p>\n Edinburgh was praised by the magazine for its “open-minded” and “good-humoured” locals. The city was also singled out for the annual Fringe Festival<\/a>, which welcomes thousands of visitors each year.<\/p>\n Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller wrote: “The Scottish capital is good-humoured, open-minded, and pulsing with creative energy, while widespread patriotism means that all are eager to provide superb standards of hospitality as well.<\/p>\n “Head up to Edinburgh during the Fringe, famed for being the world\u2019s largest arts festival, and witness the cobbled streets come alive with every talent imaginable. Here you can discover the pinnacle of Edinburgh\u2019s playful yet supportive atmosphere, as residents and visitors unite to celebrate remarkably experimental performers, from singing impressionists and feminist DJs to witty circus troops.”<\/p>\n The third and final Scottish city to appear on Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller’s roundup is Aberdeen<\/a>. The ‘granite city’ earned a satisfaction score of 84 out of 100.<\/p>\n Aberdeen, which is the most northerly city to appear on Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller’s list, earned praise for its strong sense of community compared to larger UK cities.
