Police have arrested a man who allegedly attacked members of the public and police with a knife outside a college. Emergency services<\/a> were called to Bradford College<\/a> in Bradford<\/a> before 9.30am this morning.<\/p>\n

Officers said a man was allegedly armed with a bladed weapon. He reportedly assaulted two members of the public and two emergency responders before being detained by security staff at the college.<\/p>\n

West Yorkshire Police<\/a> say they have arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of a racially-aggravated public order offence and damaging a police car.<\/p>\n

Both victims were taken to the hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police seized a small gardening tool at the scene.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Ailis Coates told The Sun: \u201cWe know that this incident will understandably cause some concern in the community.<\/p>\n

“I would like to reassure people that the suspect was quickly detained by security staff and arrested by the police.<\/p>\n

“We understand that this incident has been witnessed by a large number of people and that some people may have filmed bits of it.<\/p>\n

“We would ask them to please share this footage with the police as it could greatly assist us in our ongoing investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
